Kortnee's baby shower!!

My mom and I hosted Kortnee's baby shower! I can't believe she is so close to having her baby already! I am so excited to meet my niece....and I can't wait for Ryah to have a friend!!

Happy Birthday Nee Nee!!

I wanted to wish my sister Kortnee a happy 23rd birthday!! Here are 10 reasons she is the best sister ever!!

1. She has always and will always be there for me!

2. Kortnee was with me the ENTIRE time I was in labor, she never left my side. She even slept on the hospital room floor with only a baby blanket I brought for Ryah.

3. She will babysit anytime I ask her too!

4. She loves Ryah just as much as I do!

5. She was more excited than me when I told her I was getting married!

6. She always makes me feel better when I am down. She will talk to me for hours if I need her too!

7. She is the best shopping buddy a sister could ask for!

8. She is good at everything she does and sometimes her goodness rubs off on me! :0)

9. She puts up with me...need I say more?!

10. She is my best friend. It's funny how as time passes you realize who the most important people in your life are. When I was young I took Kortnee for granted but I want her to know that I don't know what I would do without her! She is a better sister than I could have asked for!!


Kortnee, I hope you have a wonderful birthday! I am sorry school screwed me out of going to dinner with you tonight! I am so thankful you are my sister! I can't wait to meet your little Jaylee and for you to experience motherhood for yourself. It's the most wonderful gift in the world! I hope I can be as good to you as you have been to me!

Ryah is WALKING!!!!!

Ryah started walking everywhere over the weekend! I am so glad she has finally gotten the hang of it!! I was starting to get worried!! :)

Our little smarty pants!

I have been horrible about writing in Ryah's baby book and I am hoping I have blogged about enough of the important things that I can just catch up later. So here is an update on our little smarty pants!! Ryah is a little over 14 months old right now and is just barley starting to walk. She took 6 steps on her own yesterday...THANK GOD! I think that her vocabulary and reading skills have been priority over walking. She can point to any body part you ask and say most of them. She is also obsessed with outside and her swing. I would guess she can say over 50 words and she try's to say anything and everything you ask her to. These are a some of the words she uses on a regular basis: elbow, balloon, bubbles, knee, arm, foot, toes, head, hair, ears, cheeks, teeth, belly, legs, swing, flowers, tree, car, juice, box, bottle, seat, sit, bite (she wants a BITE of everything), cup, soap, goat, cow, duck, bird, dog, diesel (Kortnee's dog), walk (pronounced balk) spaghetti O's, cheese, hot, cold, up, down, light, ball, nice, out, NO (we here that one a lot), kortnee (pronounced nee nee), mom, dad, papa, grandma (either nama or mama), comb, pretty, cute (pronounced tute), please, thank you, hello, hi, boo, bike, boy, girl, kids, baby, Ryah, night night, bye or buh bye, mine, sun, moon, stars, all the colors....and the list goes on. Not all the words are pronounced perfect but you can definitely tell what she is trying to say. Every time she sees flowers she wants to pick one and sniff it, this could get us in trouble. Ryah is very aware of her surroundings and likes to show us that she knows what things are and she knows where things belong. I can ask her to put away her toys and she does, I ask her where the sun is and she points to the sky...she is so smart! She can also count to 3, she skips 1 most of the time because I say it for her but she is getting the hang of it! She knows the sounds of many animals and we don't even need to ask her what they say anymore, she just tells us if she sees one (Ryah loves the zoo). What I mean by reading skills is when we watch her Your Baby Can Read videos they show you the word then they say the word; she always beats them to the punch....that is reading right?? I LOVE those movies and so does she! Anyway, I could go on forever but I think I documented all the good stuff!! Hopefully we will have a little walker here soon!! Take care everyone!!

It's been a while!!

So I know I have not been so great about updating this blog, but I have been getting ready for finals. Now those are done and I have until Monday before summer school starts....SO here I am updating the blog!

Mothers day weekend we went with Korntee and Eric to SLC. Kort and Eric found out they will be having a GIRL and so we decided to celebrate with a mini vacation that included lots of shopping! Since we were already going to be there we also planned on taking Ryah to the Hogle Zoo. She loves animals so we thought it would be fun to spend mothers day doing something Ryah would enjoy! Anyway, here are some pictures from the weekend! Enjoy...

Kortnee and Eric got Ryah the cutest outfit for her birthday! We are getting pictures taken at the end of this month but we thought we would give it a shot, see if we could get any good ones. So here are a few!

Ryah's 10 month update!!

So here are a few things about Ryah on her 10 month birthday!

*She has 4 teeth, two on top and two on bottom.
*She is crawling like a wild woman and getting into everything.
*She is starting to pull herself up onto furniture.
*She can almost sit up from laying down by herself.
*She can say Mama, Dada, NO, don't but it sounds like dough, and I think she is saying Thank You but it sounds like tha-ooo.
*When you ask she can point to her: hair, nose, ears, foot, toes, and her snap (on her PJ's).
*If you ask here where Ryah is, she points to herself. She does the same when you ask her where the baby is.
*She can make the monkey sound and the cow sound. Every time she sees a monkey she makes the hoo hoo hoo sound.
*If you say its "cold" she does raspberries with her lips.
*She is trying to copy everything anyone does and she is babbling a lot. Its starting to sound more and more like talking.
*She loves to clap and dance.
*She will wave goodbye if you are leaving.
*She loves to put her arms up and point at everything.

My mom got here these videos I wanted for Christmas called "Your Baby Can Read", they are so cool. They show you the word, show you the action of the word or what the word is and say the word. Its really educational and she loves them! She is trying to copy everything they do in the videos. For example, the movie shows the word "arms up", then says arms up, then shows you kids putting their arms up. Check out the website if your interested, Ryah loves them!!
